When I was little, I used to spend my summers off from school shooting "music videos" around the house (we'll call them that), and I would edit the footage we shot with the song we were lip-syncing to, and challenge myself to think creatively. I've always allowed my creative side to be nurtured, and made time for myself to express it - whether through playing piano and singing, crafting videos with friends and family, or making up dance moves in my free time. In my early 20's, I discovered that photography could be so much more than what I had seen it be for many years - setting an impossible standard for its viewers to achieve. I decided that by being creative in this way, I could also change the industry and value each subject in front of my lens just the way they are, hopefully encouraging them to do the same for themselves after leaving each session with me.
